There is no time like the Present! Forget Procrastination……

Procrastination…..A big word. But what is it? A word that everyone has come across at some stage in there life. Its meaning…..“The action of delaying or postponing something”.

Does that word and meaning sound like something that has happened to you. Well it certainly has happened to me.

Why is it that people Procrastinate over trying something new or moving forward?

One of the reasons might include the feeling of failure in trying or in turn when you try you will fail. Same thing….. Is it because when you take that next step you become scared….or you are scared to take the next step. Same thing.

Take a really good example from me. I have procrastinated for a very long time on when and how to start to start a blog. (20 years ago it was a book) My friends have heard (and rolled their eyes ) for the past 20 years that I was going to write and publish books, because I have always said, and still say ‘there is a book in everyone’. Seven years ago I got close and with the help of work colleagues co-wrote and published a booklet which I found very enjoyable. (How to help children of Parents with Mental Health Issues In the Rockingham Region.W.A) It was however written with a group of differing agencies and we were governed by what we could publish. This said – I found the process quite easy.

Starting a Blog via the Internet was an awe inspiring idea, that I continued to procrastinate over. I am one of the least intelligent people to access and utilize the net and a computer .(just ask my friends). My minimal knowledge on the “How To” use the internet drove me to borrow my friends brains and instead of me learning myself, much to my current dismay- I just kept giving my ideas away and let them do it for me. And in turn I never sat down and learnt it myself. I was always scared that I was going to muck it up, go too slow, do it wrong or worse – break it. This I am learning is harder to do than I thought. The worst I can do is to misspell something. So What. And the simple learning Curve is, that I can only get better.

Well frankly, I decided to stop Procrastinating…. and Start.

…time for trials…

I decided to brainstorm ideas of what I seriously would like to do, then carried a notebook around with me for a couple of months to write down ideas. I wrote the Pros and Cons of writing and where I wanted it to end up. If it never got read would I be sad. Well…Yes! But for now I am happy to continue with the fact that I can write. It does feel right! and that this is what I feel I have always wanted to do. Some of my notebook of ideas will flow through my future Blogs. It also becomes clearer where to steer and how to shape the Blog as time continues. Small Ideas can and will become big Ideas. Having Confidence in myself is enough for me to understand that it dosent always have to please everyone else, just me.

There is Nothing to Worry About….. or is there?

From time to time in our lives we can all be faced with Challenges. They range from the the smallest mundane challenge and generally with a single decision can be fixed or managed and overcome, ready to carry on and get ready for the next in life. These are the day to day issues in life that we all have to deal with.. What time to leave home and go to work, what is the quickest route at 8.35 am to take, how to organise dinner and pay bills, shop on the lunch break and so on. Mundane right? Right? Requiring little or no stress on any ones behalf. These issues actually become part of life without even noticing them and management of these become second nature-no thought required.

Well what about the larger ones, the more involved multi leveled time constricting, long term Challenges that affect life, peoples health, their well being, relationships, money? What about something that did not start too stressful, but while you were dealing with the mundane, another part of -“One of your Challenges in life” – it all got out of hand. While you weren’t watching the game,  you took your eye off the ball, someone just hit it for a six and seemingly just flew out of the ballpark. The Issue that is.- not the ball.

And when the ball finally got dropped, rolled to a dead halt and was then found hiding under a bush….. it became a guessing game as to where it all went wrong – the Issue that is, not the ball.

There are many reasons why there wasn’t just a huge ‘Kapow’ and a wake up call to the issue (that is now at hand) it being larger than just a day to day mundane and capable one that can be solved. is it because it became far easier to ignore the growth factor and carry on with life, and because it crept slowly, grew slowly, festered, it got ignored again while hoping it would magically disappear……and then before you knew it ……It was there staring at you larger than life.

The issue then just got scary. This is where it does affect some aspect of life, and it now needs some level of interaction, solution and help to find the next logical step…..

So here is my point.

Tricky path in life…

Where does it become logical, to know that what you have at hand has moved from ‘mundane and easy to handle – to an acceleration of large and scary’… and what to do next………….

Our Amazing bodies……. and what we do with them….or Not!

This is not a health and well being site. It does not profess to be but while I have the ability to write early pieces and practice on how to familiarize myself with my new  site – I would like to write and comment on all aspects of life. After all – Itsmylifetoo. Exercise, Weight Management. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge that all over the world people are becoming more and more health conscious. There is a lot of thought these days that goes into the realms of Diet and Exercise. It is a billion dollar business and can be lucrative –  for those interested and that want to play the game. There is a large variant of people that range from the unaware sloths, who continue to step closer to their graves with bad choices, food or otherwise, and the alternative people who overdo every step of the process and lack some form of moderation in search for that perfect state. So, what to do? The question has been asked for decades and with those who have chosen to be involved has to some degree worked -or not. Maybe while dealing with Diet, Exercise and food management for the last 7 years within my role at a female gym (Curves) – I can literally weigh in on the subject (excuse the pun)
It would be a good time for any person wanting to take up the challenge of self Improvement through Exercise and diet to indeed comprehensively make a checklist before they start. It may help to enhance the outcome of their personal Challenge.
It does go without saying……..

Start somewhere……..

It is Paramount to realize that the inner Ego definitively drives the Self. The Body is guided by not only by what happens in our day to day dealings – but that our mind or Ego plays a large part in who we are and what we are. Firstly, we are what we think we are…. and what we think about ourselves reflects outwardly in our personal worlds.

There are a multitude of people who visit the gym daily and realistically find that size does -or does not matter. If you are comfortable with your size and weight, then it becomes no ones business to tell you otherwise. With respect as to why you are visiting the gym, and if it is to improve your health……..then there in lies your answer and it is a matter for you to begin some-where, any-where because yesterday you were doing nothing…………
